PARIS FLOODS

Floodwaters have transformed

the streets of Paris and its

surrounding suburbs

Water levels of the Seine River

are steadily rising, swollen by

weeks of heavy rain

The water has stopped boat

traffic, shut down roads and

prompted evacuations

It has also forced some residents

to find creative ways of getting around

Forecasters say the iconic river that

winds through the City of Light should

reach a peak level of about 5.9 metres
